Obituary [Robert Joseph Grant Jr.] Sunrise: [October 11, 1957] – Sunset: [August 28, 2025] Robert Joseph Grant Jr. departed this life on August 28, 2025, at the age of 67. He was born on October 11, 1957, to the late Lorraine Ann Glapion and Robert Grant Sr., Robert was a quiet yet lovable soul. His relaxed nature and warm presence brought comfort to those around him, while his sense of humor, love of sports, and lighthearted jokes filled many lives with laughter and joy. His children and grandchildren were the absolute love of his life, he was ecstatically proud of all of them. He was educated in the New Orleans Public School System and worked in the retail grocery business and then as a laborer in Construction. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Lorraine and Robert Grant Sr., two brothers, Ward and Darryl Grant, two aunts Cleo Lee (Louis) and Florence Jones (Louis Jr.), three uncles Eugene Thomas, Lester and Alonzo Albert and one nephew Ward Gonzalez. He leaves to cherish his memory two loving daughters, Kyann Johnson and Akira (Eryn) Ulmer , and a loving son, Ronell Hubbard, one grandson, Marcus Ulmer; two granddaughters, Aiyanna and Ariah Ulmer; one loving and devoted brother Cary Grant, sister-in-laws Cheryl Grant, Roi Remble and Wanda Smith, two nieces, Chauni Williams (Craig) and Kavon Gonzalez, two nephews nephews, Darryl Grant and Durell Smith; two great-nieces Keira and Kylie Gonzalez, one great-nephew Cary Grant and one devoted cousin Donald Jones (Felicia) along with a host of other loving relatives and friends. Robert’s humor, kindness, and love will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives he touched. A memorial service celebrating the life of Robert Grant Jr. will be held at Church Without Walls, 9810 Lake Forest Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70127, at 10 am.
